Friends of the Beverly Hills Public Library is an organization dedicated to the preservation, promotion and enhancement of our Library's collections, facilities and programs.
Funds raised by The Friends during the past year were used to purchase 400 books for adults and 1000 children's books, 1000 books for the Fine Arts Department and 1000 DVD's.
We fund three monthly book groups with Judith Palarz and your membership includes admittance for the year. We also funded the digitizing of local newspapers, the Children's summer reading program, the Knit Wits knitting program in the Teen Zone, the Homebound Delivery program and the Senior Library Branch at Roxbury Park.
The Friends run the only general interest bookstore in Beverly Hills, and we welcome your donations. We accept current or recent hardcover or trade fiction/non fiction, biography or memoir. Also accepted are: books on art, architecture, photography, current travel, cookbooks and gardening, sports, religion, science and economics. We welcome children's and young adult titles, books on CD (not tape), music CD's and graphic novels, also mass market paperbacks that are clean and have covers.
Please don't bring us encyclopedias, text books or material that is written in, dirty or moldy. We do not accept old diet books or medical books.
For donation pickups contact: Daysi: Telephone #310-288-2271. New Hours: 4-7 Wednesdays only. We pick up no more than 5 miles away. Books need to be in boxes (preferable) or bags. |
