Friends of the Beverly Hills Public Library Endowment Fund

Many citizens in our community might be unaware that the Friends oversee a financial Endowment Fund whose proceeds benefit collections and programs within the Library. An endowment gift is invested in safe and secure monetary institutions so the funds may grow and the interest utilized for future library needs.

Upon the giving of a financial gift the donor may request the funds be utilized in an area of particular interest or used at the discretion of the Friends’ Board of Directors. Past gifts have been utilized for children’s art, literature, programming and additions to the children’s book collections. The Enchanted Woods collection is also made possible by an endowment.

Other endowments have benefited music collections and programs, books that encompass a variety of topics on the entertainment industry, and services for the visually impaired. Donations may also assist with new and emerging technologies such as a Computer lab, DVD’s and e-books.

You may wish to create a collection of books on a topic in which you have a special interest, such as preservation of local history, travel, or photography. Fine arts lectures have been funded by a specific endowment. As you can see the possibilities for your gift are numerous.

Please be confident that a donation of $1000 or above is greatly appreciated and will be a wonderful benefit to our treasured community asset, the Beverly Hills Public Library. Many gifts of this nature are tax deductible, please check with your tax advisor for verification.
